WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To realize the full potential of the our product range, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer, who has experience in precision mechatronics and motion control, including all of its future modules and features. The Mechanical Engineer will develop features and modules to enhance the performance of our products range for applications in pharma, biotech, and academia. Working on high-precision motion systems and fiber optic sensing, requiring nanometer-level stability. Teaming up with a highly motivated and talented R&D team, the candidate is a key player in the development of unique world class instruments and is not afraid to set ambitious technical goals.
So, what will you do?
KEY ACTIVITIES
Design, develop and support new products, features and modules
Develop mechanical and mechatronic aspects of complex metrology and imaging systems
Improve and optimize high-precision motion control systems on Optics11 Life products
Perform design analyses (tolerance, thermal, vibration, structural) and ensure manufacturability
Identify and propose design changes improvement to enhance performance, stability and reliability
Create, maintain, and update the bill of materials (BOM) and related documentation
Job requirements
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
BSc or MSc in mechanical, mechatronics engineering or related field
5+ years experience in mechanical and mechatronics design with focus on precision motion control
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and proficiency in CAD modeling
Knowledge of materials and surface treatments for precision mechanical systems
Experience with system validation, FMEA, and structured design checkpoints
Understanding precision engineering concepts (stiffness, damping, thermal effects, vibration)
Understanding precision mechatronics concepts (closed loop control, sensing, actuators)
Experience in a regulated environment (ISO, GMP, medical, or similar) is a plus
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
